Measurement of crystallographic orientation of quartz crystal using Raman spectroscopy: application to entrapped inclusions

چکیده
Abstract Raman spectroscopy has been widely used in mineralogy and petrology for identifying mineral phases. Some recent applications of involve measuring the residual pressure inclusions, such as quartz inclusions garnet host, to recover entrapment condition during metamorphism. The crystallographic orientations entrapped host are important know modelling their elastic interaction. However, analysis tiny using EBSD technique requires time consuming polishing. can be measured polarized spectroscopy, intensities bands depend on mutual orientation between polarization direction laser crystal. In this study, polarizability tensor is first obtained fit arbitrary grains. We have implemented two rotation methods: (1) sample method, where rotated a stage, (2) polarizer directions incident scattered signal parallel circular polarizer. precision systematically studied shown ca. 0.25 degrees wafers plates that cut along known orientations. It (ca. 2–5 μm) precisely determined yield consistent results with EBSD.

Transcutaneous Measurement of Glucose Using Raman spectroscopy
Transcutaneous glucose measurement would provide the ability to obtain frequent measurements without the pain and risk of infection associated with obtaining a blood sample and eliminates the need for reagents. Because of these potential benefits, a large effort is being made within the academic and industrial research communities to develop alternative rapid and easily manageable analysis meth...
متن کاملRaman spectroscopy study of nano sheets of graphene and measurement of their resistivity
Graphene is a promising candidate for future high-speed electronics applications. It is a thin layer of pure carbon in which every atom is available for chemical reaction from two sides (due to the 2D structure). This is the only form of carbon (or solid material) with this characteristic feature. Graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized through the oxidation of graphite using the Hummer’s method, i...
متن کاملPrecise Characterisation of Molecular Orientation in a Single Crystal Field-Effect Transistor Using Polarised Raman Spectroscopy
Charge transport in organic semiconductors is strongly dependent on the molecular orientation and packing, such that manipulation of this molecular packing is a proven technique for enhancing the charge mobility in organic transistors. However, quantitative measurements of molecular orientation in micrometre-scale structures are experimentally challenging. Several research groups have suggested...
متن کاملPolythiophene Synthesis Coupled to Quartz Crystal Microbalance and Raman Spectroscopy for Detecting Bacteria
A simple electrochemical procedure was used for the synthesis of a polythiophene containing para-benzenesulfonyl chloride groups. The obtained polymer was shown to be very reactive and directly able to covalently bind nucleophile biomolecules. Protein A and a specific antibody were then successively immobilized on the conductive polymer through a covalent bonding of Protein A with the as-prepar...
متن کاملRaman spectroscopy study of lattice vibration and crystallographic orientation of monolayer MoS2 under uniaxial strain.
The false-color (3D type) image of the intensity of the Raman spectra of monolayer MoS2 versus both peak positions and polar angles is plotted. It shows that the strongest E2g (1+) and E2g (1-) peaks appear at different angles, reflected as the alternation of the maxima of the intensity within the frequency range of the E2g (1) mode, which is the consequence of the crystallographic orientation ...
